MARITIMES SQUARE: Halifax Offers a Taste of Nova Scotia This New Year’s Eve
2017 deserves a fresh start… why not join Halifax for a feast of fresh seafood and phenomenal entrees as they celebrate their first-ever New Year’s Eve right here on the Hoboken Waterfront?
Halifax and Executive Chef Seadon Shouse deliver the taste of the Northeastern coastal cuisine, from the Mid-Atlantic through New England and beyond to Nova Scotia—where Chef Shouse was raised.
The restaurant, located in the W Hoboken (225 River Street), offers the sort of menu one might find at coastal village restaurant a century ago—featuring locally sourced meat, fish, produce and dairy—but with stunning riverside views of the Manhattan skyline.
For the restaurant’s first New Year’s Eve celebration they’re pulling out all the stops with two prix fixe feasts—the first seating features three-courses with wine pairings available for each course, while the second seating features five courses and an open bar.
Guests can choose from luxurious dishes such as King Crab Salad enhanced by caviar and saffron potatoes; Nova Scotia Lobster Ravioli; Salmon paired with poached oysters; and Ribeye with rich truffled potato puree, truffle butter and sauce bordelaise. Pastry Chef Stuart Marx, an alum of David Burke’s restaurant group, is crafting indulgent desserts like Chocolate Truffle Torte and Raspberry-Pomegranate Napoleon.
First Seating, from 5-6:30 p.m., is $75 per person with an optional wine pairing for each course.
Second Seating, from 8:30-10p.m., is $175 per person and includes open bar.
Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant at 201-253-2500 or e-mailing Reservations@HalifaxHoboken.com.
