DOWN BY THE RIVER: Sunset Cruise to Benefit Fund for a Better Waterfront — March 23
Fund for a Better Waterfront (FBW) invites you to get aboard the classic, white-hulled 100-foot yacht, Manhattan II, to enjoy a sunset cruise with a buffet dinner, an open bar, jazz trio and spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, New York Harbor and Hoboken/Jersey City coastlines. This two-hour party cruise will benefit FBW as it seeks to secure the final missing links in Hoboken’s public waterfront park.
FBW is guided by the principle that successful waterfronts begin with sound planning, time-tested urban design and an understanding that the water’s edge belongs to the public. Through leadership, advocacy and collaboration, FBW has enjoyed tremendous success in Hoboken and is currently working to secure several of the final links that would make Hoboken’s waterfront park contiguous and whole from the Hoboken Train Terminal to the Weehawken Cove.

Classic Harbor Line’s Manhattan II will depart from Chelsea Piers on Manhattan’s Hudson River waterfront at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 23. This yacht’s 1920s-inspired design includes teak decks and mahogany finishes. The cabin’s all-glass observatory provides stunning, unobscured views of downtown Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Liberty State Park and the waterfronts of Jersey City and Hoboken.
Bandleader and triple threat female powerhouse Ginetta M. – she sings, plays pocket trumpet and composes – will lead her jazz trio, Ginetta’s Vendetta, through an evening of jazz classics as well as her own compositions.
The cruise will leave from and return to Chelsea Piers, Pier 62 (West 23rd Street & Hudson River Park) in New York City. Tickets for the benefit are $325 and can be purchased online at betterwaterfront.org.
