BEST FRIEND FOR HIRE: Best-Selling Author Mary Carlomagno Returns to Hoboken to Showcase Her New Novel—TUESDAY @ Maxwell’s
Already a best-selling author—with several books on organizing and de-cluttering your home and personal life—Mary Carlomagno is no stranger to the stage. She has been featured on the The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show, CBS News, National Public Radio, the Joan Hamburg Show, and Martha Stewart Living, in Redbook, Real Simple, Design NJ, Woman’s Day, and even little ol’ hMAG.
Transitioning to novel writing, Carlomagno went with the old adage of “write what you know.” Having spent a number of years living here in the Mile Square City, she knows Hoboken well enough to use it as the setting for her book Best Friend For Hire (Post Hill Press).
In Best Friend For Hire, main character Jessie DeSalvo gets the axe from her upper-echelon publishing job, finding comfort and eventually a career in her Hoboken hometown—helping sort out friends, strangers, wedding plans, and eventually the local rock club. Meanwhile, just to ensure that Jersey is fully represented, Bruce Springsteen is heavily woven into the storyline.
With all that in mind, Maxwell’s (1039 Washington Street) was the only place suitable for such a book’s launch. On Tuesday, June 20, Carlomagno will be on hand at Hoboken’s iconic rock venue from 6-8 p.m. to celebrate the release of Best Friend For Hire. Joining her LIVE on stage will be Mike Fox from The Mighty Spectrum Band, playing acoustic Bruuuuuuuuuce.
Complimentary drink ticket included with the purchase of the book…
