ROCK LOCAL: Davey & The Trainwreck Join the BoDeans at White Eagle Hall – WEDNESDAY, 8 p.m.

We’re all pretty excited to have White Eagle Hall (337 Newark Ave, JC)—none more so than local artists like Davey & The Trainwreck, who will take the stage tonight as a warm up to featured act, critically acclaimed heartland rockers the BoDeans.
We spoke with “Davey,” frontman Dave Calamoneri, about the significance of this show to the band and to local music…
hMAG: How does it feel to be playing with the BoDeans tonight?
Dave Calamoneri: It feels exciting as hell playing White Eagle tonight, which of course has the nerves kicking as well. Really psyched to get the call. BoDeans and the Trainwreck seem like a good fit.
h: Any special meaning behind tonight’s performance?
DC: Well we lost a brother in arms, in Jim D. He would have LOVED this gig. We also lost a real friend to the band in Paco yesterday. So I’ll be thinking about them rocking out for sure.
h: What will a place like White Eagle Hall mean for the Hudson County music scene?
DC: It means good things. Both for a larger “real” venue for national acts and a place to showcase locals in opening slots. Local heroes The Rye Coalition opening the place was a great start. They put out a call a couple months back for local acts. It’s Great that they’re making good on that! It awesome that they called us!
