FRIDAYS ARE FOR FRANK: “Come Blow Your Horn”

“Make like a Mister Milquetoast and you’ll get shut out,

“Wise words from a man who never shied away from anything—Frank Sinatra starred in the 1963 Paramount film adaptation of Neil Simon‘s hit Broadway play, Come Blow Your Horn.Co-starring Lee J. Cobb, Molly Picon, Barbara Rush, and Jill St. John, both Norman Lear (who wrote the screenplay) and Dean Martin both make cameo appearances in this Bud Yorkin film. Meanwhile, the soundtrack was arranged by Sinatra’s go-to Nelson Riddle.

The plot is a know-it-all-playboy (Sinatra) comes along to teach his little brother a thing or two about being cool around the ladies… with mixed results.

“Make like the world’s your pudding, but light the brandy.”
