Guy Who Paddleboarded Across the Hudson in a Suit Hosting Charity Event for the Homeless — FRIDAY, JUNE 21st

Last we saw of Scott Holt, he was paddling across the Hudson River in a suit.

“I was late for a meeting, didn’t want to pay for the ferry,” Holt told hMAG last June, when we broke the story. “So I hopped on my board.”

The comedian gained instant international notoriety for his inspirational, arguably idiotic approach to the soul-crushing NJ-to-NYC commute. A year later, he’s looking to parlay that prominence into goodwill for the area homeless community.

On Friday, June 21, Holt will hold the Milk Crate Charity Event for the Homeless, featuring a pay-to paddle event at Morris Canal Park, followed by a comedy show.

“June 21st is the first day of summer,” says Holt. “Take the day off work and come help out a direct Charity event. All money goes directly to local homeless and local shelters.”

At 12pm, the Pay to Paddle event will take place—open to paddleboards, kayaks, canoes. All floating devices (and attire) welcome.

“Just messing around the harbor,” says Holt, “not trying to cross the Hudson again.”

At 2pm, Milk Crate Comedy Presents a Helpful Homeless Show with Comedy and Music.

“I will be bringing some of my funniest and talented friends to help entertain the homeless and the volunteers,” says Holt.

The event serves as a “Food, Clothes, Etc. Drive”

“Bring anything you think we could donate directly to the people that come or give to local shelters,” says Holt.
