HOBO’CANE ’15: Joaquin Takes on Role of an Aimless Drifter
After some pretty erratic forecasting, it looks like our boy Joaquin—now a powerful Category 4 hurricane—is headed out to sea.
Before anyone starts to groan on about “overreacting,” keep in mind that this storm was headed right for us a one point. The fact that it currently appears to be drifting out to the east is a very, VERY good thing.
That said, we’re still looking at impacts in the form of wind and rain throughout the day, with a coastal flooding advisory in effect. Here in Hoboken, flooding is an all-too-common occurrence, with reports of flooding in the back of town on Wednesday.
Preparedness is key, and this has been a pretty good reminder of that. Here’s another reminder—Sandy sucked. Our densely populated sea-level community does not do hurricanes well… be thankful that this is moving along.
