Most people, when looking back at Sinatra’s Rat Pack heyday, visualize the martini as the drink of choice.

Frank, however, was a brown liquor man, specifically Jack Daniel’s.

The Old No. 7 of Sinatra’s era was bold, smoky and full of character—not unlike a Sinatra concert.

Jack Daniel’s now offers their Sinatra Select line, which is aged in “Sinatra Barrels” featuring deeper grooves on the inside of the staves, thereby exposing the whiskey to extra layers of oak. Depth and exposure were both things that Frank could appreciate.

The Sinatra Select bottles are certainly a premium, but Christmas only comes once a year. On that note, Frank Sinatra’s centennial celebration comes only once every 100 years. Why not splurge on the good stuff?

Del Frisco’s Grille Hoboken Sinatra Cocktail ($25)

2 Oz Jack Daniels Sinatra Select

.5 Oz Cherry Heering

.5 Oz Sweet Vermouth

2 Dashes Peychauds Bitters

Combine all ingredients in a pint glass, fill with ice and stir 15-20 times. Strain into a chilled Martini glass, garnished with flamed lemon peel.
