¡AY DIOS MIO!: The Taco Truck Closing Briefly for Renovations
Cálmate…
Yes, The Taco Truck is closed—but only for a few days.
The Taco Truck’s Hoboken location closed its doors on October 9 to make renovations and conduct staff training—including the installation of new equipment, flooring, menu boards and art work.
But you’ll be able to “Eat More Tacos” by the end of this week, as they plan on being back in business on October 14 with a grand reopening celebration.
“3,000,000 tacos coming out of 1,000 square feet eventually catches up to you,” says CEO Jason Scott. “Our design has also evolved since we opened in 2010, we wanted to update our flagship store to reflect the evolution of the brand.”
Of course some people might wonder why The Taco Truck needs a store. The answer is simple—logisitics.
“It helps because you have a commercial kitchen you can use to support the truck,” says Scott. The Taco Truck currently has brick-and-mortar locations in Hoboken, Princeton, Morristown and a seasonal location on New York City’s High Line, with a Philadelphia (PA) expansion set for late 2016. The trucks and carts operate in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
As for the tacos???
“In November, we will be launching monthly specials like mole tacos and tacos de lengua (cow tongue)!”
¡Muy bien!
