CENT’ANNI: Hoboken Celebrates Frank Sinatra at 100
We’ve been burning the candle for Sinatra all year—now it’s time to eat the cake, baby!!!
The Sinatra Centennial is upon us, and we need to thank authors Pete Hamill and James Kaplan for their insight, Leo’s and Little City for their hospitality and both the Hoboken Historical Museum and the Hoboken Public Library for “spreading the news.”
There’s a lot going on in Hoboken for Frank Sinatra’s birthday, so pay attention…
With the beautiful, Palm Springs-like weather today, it’s a great chance to take the Sinatra Self-Guided Walking Tour.
At the Hoboken Historical Museum, there’s a full slate of activities up to and beyond the big birthday:
- Celebrate Sinatra’s 100th Birthday at the Museum!

Meanwhile, the Hoboken Public Library is hosting their own collection of Sinatra memorabilia, plus a Sinatra 100th Birthday Movie Marathon on Saturday, Dec. 12, starting at 10:15.
Of course our good friends at Leo’s Grandevous are going all out, with their Sinatra 100 celebration on 12/12. Limited seating available—you must have a reservation for dinner. We will have live entertainment until 12am!
Blue Eyes Café in Sinatra Park on Hoboken’s Waterfront is always a great spot to sit and stare at ol’ “New York, New York.” They’ll be featuring at prix fixe menu with live music and a Sinatra Performance.
Stop into Del Frisco’s Grille Hoboken for a Sinatra Cocktail.
Swing on into Northern Soul and join artist/comedian/singer and Sinatra superfan Craig Mahoney as he, the Jack Breslin Quartet, and some special guest singers take you on a musical tour through one of the most thoroughly lived lives there’s been. Jack Daniel’s drink specials, and also enter for the chance to win some new Craig Mahoney art created just for this occasion.
Or head on over to Piccolo’s for a cheesesteak with Patty Boy—you know Frank will be playing there…
Then at St. Francis Church this Sunday evening, December 13th, the 6:00 p.m. Mass will commemorate the centennial of Frank Sinatra at the Church where he was baptized – St. Francis Church – 3rd and Jefferson – Hoboken, NJ….the little Church with the big heart.
Or just stay home and cook some pasta… Frank has a recipe.
Whatever you do, enjoy yourself. That’s what Frank would have wanted.
“May you live to be a hundred, and may the last voice you hear be mine.”
