DISORDERLY WEEKEND: Hoboken PD Deal With Pair of Troubling Incidents Involving Disturbed Persons
SantaCon may have been across the river this week, but Hoboken Police were still occupied over the weekend by a pair of incidents involving disorderly persons.
On Saturday, December 14 at 1:45 p.m., HPD officers were dispatched to the Hoboken Shelter, where they found a group of males holding down Vimalesh Patel, age 41 (Homeless). As the officers took control of the situation, the Patel managed to spit on Sgt. Labruno and Officer Archilla. While attempting to handcuff the Patel, he pulled away and threatened the officers several times with bodily injury. Eventually Patel transported to headquarters where he then exposed himself and urinated on the wall and floor. He was charged with Terroristic Threats, Resisting Arrest, 3 counts of Throwing Bodily Fluids, Harassment, Criminal Mischief.Prior to incarceration, he was transported to the Hoboken University Medical Center.
On Sunday, December 15 at approximately 6:09 am, HPD were dispatched to the area of 15th and Willow Avenue to deal with an unruly male on the bus who was allegedly threatening to kill the passengers on the bus. From the outside, Officer Barral was able to observe the male menacing passengers. Randy Beato, age 30, of Bayonne, then exited and was immediately taken and handcuffed by the officers on scene. Beato was charged with Terroristic Threats & Interference with Transportation, then taken to the Hudson County Rehabilitation Center. None of the passengers sustained any injuries from the incident.
