At age 11, Jojo Petruzzelli began watching YouTube videos about sneaker culture, kicking off his passion for streetwear. He decided to turn that love into a business, setting up Elite Kickz—an online platform to buy/sell/trade sneakers and other items.

Meanwhile, Jojo and his mother Jackie were doing volunteer work at the Jubilee Center, which helps meet social and economic needs for kids in Hoboken with a variety of programs and initiatives.

Recently, the building housing the Jubilee Center was listed for sale. With the future of the program in flux, Petruzzelli saw an opportunity to put his love for sneakers to work for the kids of Hoboken.

From Saturday, July 25 through Thursday, July 30, Elite Kickz is running a pop-up shop out of the Dune + Salt boutique at 1200 Washington Street from noon to 7 p.m. each day. A percentage of the proceeds will go to benefit the Jubilee Center of Hoboken’s programs.
