Sinatra had a tremendous affinity for the U.K., traveling there often—performing and even recording some of his most triumphant material at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
Frank had made his first visit in the summer of 1950, when he topped the bill at the London Palladium, and enjoyed playing in Britain. He returned in 1962, to record Sinatra Sings Great Songs From Great Britain, a collection of all British material.
His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh passed away this morning at Buckingham Palace in London. He was 99.
