Halloween is Covered at Maxwell’s, as Phish, Police and Cyndi Lauper Tribute Bands Take the Stage
Everyone wants to do something “different” for Halloween. This year you can either get tricked by hollow hype, or stop by Maxwell’s for a sure treat, as Hoboken’s renowned live music venue puts on a musical costume party for All Hallow’s Eve.
“Christina Alessi and The Toll Collectors are covering Cyndi Lauper, Big Wake is doing The Police, and Josh Klein and The Legends will be closing the night out with a set of Phish,” says musician Gerry Rosenthal (of Big Wake).
“It’s always one of the best party nights of the year! Tons of bands play Halloween shows, and it has traditionally been a great night to go out and see live music—it’s always a fun party with everyone dressing up, getting down, and getting weird,” says Rosenthal. “I’ve always found it very cool to watch one of my favorite original bands put their stamp on a different artist, not just for one song but for a whole set. And as a player too, it’s always fun and many times enlightening to learn a whole set of someone else’s music. The Halloween show experience, whether playing or attending, has always been really special one for me.”
Tickets for this Halloween extravaganza are only $10, with drink specials and a contest for best costume.
The show begins at 8:00. Should be one hell of a night…
