The New York Times highlighted Hoboken, Jersey City and Weehawken this week. The first was an article about a couple’s search for a new home in either Hoboken or downtown Jersey City. They later covered The Pompidou Center’s plans to open its first North American satellite museum in a renovated industrial building in a journal Square. Most recently, NYT was talking about “falling in love with Weehawken.”
So what does this renewed interest in our area mean?
It means that now that people are starting to return to their offices in the City, they are starting to move back to our area. Meanwhile, Hoboken and Jersey City are seen as viable alternatives to Manhattan and other Boroughs.
Because of this, we are starting to see an upswing in sales in this market. We have not yet reached the frenetic level that has hampered buyers in suburban areas throughout the pandemic, but we’re back to a point where numerous properties are receiving multiple competitive offers—a tangible sign that we are well on our way to recovery in the real estate sector here in Hudson County.
