I’M SMART: Hoboken Ranks #2 Among NJ’s Most Educated Cities

Not like everybody says… like dumb…
I’m smart and I want respect!”

We hear you, Fredo. We’re smart too.
According to data from the 2011-2015 American Community Survey, 50.3% of Hoboken residents have a Bachelor’s Degree—coming in at #2 in the state’s most educated towns, behind Ho-Ho-Kus. Not bad for a city whose claim to fame is being the punchline in a Bugs Bunny cartoon…
In an article recently compiled by NJ Advance Media (H/T HobokenGirl), about 1.4 million New Jersey residents over 25 have a Bachelor’s degree. Towns with a high percentage of college graduates tend to be far wealthier.
That checks out for Hoboken, where another recent survey shows that 54% of Hoboken residents make over $100,000. Additionally, 33.2% make over $150K, while 19.5% make over $200,000—making our little town one of the highest earning cities in the state.
You hear that, Mikey… “we can handle things!!!”
