ROCK ON THE ROCKS: Live Music Comes to Hoboken’s Southwest Park — TUESDAY NIGHTS, STARTING JUNE 12th
Hoboken opened its Southwest Park last September. Tuesday nights this summer, it hopes to come alive.
While Bethel had dairy farmer Max Yasgur, Hoboken has Maxwell Feinstein—co-owner of Silver Horse Sound, a recording studio adjacent to the Southwest Park—who, along with a little help from his friends, looks to bring an infusion of live music to an otherwise quiet industrial corner of Hoboken.
“The concept is to find ways to use our new park for the betterment of the town’s culture by encouraging interaction over good food and music,” says Feinstein.
The music will come from a variety of acts throughout the summer, kicking off on June 9th with
Michael Brown and the Majestic, plus The Prom Dates. The food will come via D’s Soul Full Café, with a special menu for the weekly events.
“The neighborhood hasn’t developed south of Paterson,” says Gregory Dell’Aquila, of the neighboring Hoboken Business Center , which is proud to be sponsoring the concert series along with Mission 50 Workspaces. “The park seems to be built for programming,” he adds. “We have always supported activity in the triangle south of Paterson and this is how to activate the park and the neighborhood.”
The shows will run from 6:30 to 8:30 every Tuesday, with a stellar lineup of live music from some of our area’s best.
