Hoboken alternative band Viktor.digital is celebrating Spring with a new single, new album, and new shows.
The band, led by Ohio-born songwriter Viktor Sveda, recorded the album in early 2020 at Silver Horse Sound (Hoboken). The album, titled Underwater Swearing, was mastered by Grammy-winning sound engineer Greg Calbi (Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Beck,
My Morning Jacket), and features eleven genre-defying and often times mind-bending tracks.
“The making of [Underwater Swearing] with my bandmates has personally taught me how patience can add a new dimension to the recording process,” Sveda says. “Social distancing forced us to slow down and reimagine how we make music together, opening the door to new elements and an even fuller sound.”
“Satellite (Radio Edit)” is the first single to be taken from the album and will be available on April 2. Underwater Swearing will be released on digital and streaming platforms on April 23. Additionally, the album will be released on 150g black vinyl as part of a limited edition run.
Viktor.digital look forward to celebrating the release of their seventh studio album with a pair of special performances. The first will be a socially-distant listening event and performance for the backers who contributed to their highly successful Kickstarter campaign (more details to follow). The official record release performance will be at the Pushing Up Daisies Festival in Jersey City, NJ on May 15.
