Authorities are advising motorists to avoid the area of Weehawken near the Hoboken border, as a SUEZ Water North Jersey water main break has crippled traffic in that area.

The break occurred at around 6 a.m. on Park Avenue in Weehawken. The Park Avenue bridge between Hoboken and Weehawken is reportedly closed.
Traffic is severely impacted in all other areas, as people scramble to find other routes in and out of town. NJ Transit bus service will be crawling along this route, and the 14th Street viaduct from Jersey City Heights/Union City is reportedly backed up all the way.
