HOBOKEN DWI: Police Log Third Arrest This Week

For the third time this week, a driver has been arrested for DWI in Hoboken.

At 12:43 this morning, November 6, officers observed a 2008 Cadillac traveling at a high rate of speed that failed to stop at the corner of 2nd & Harrison. Rashadee Adams, age 38, of Jersey City was driving with a suspended license and a cup full of alcoholic beverage in plain view. After failing a field sobriety test, he was taken to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Open Container, Failure to Stop, Unlicensed Driver, Careless Driving, DWI in a School Zone, Refusal to submit to breathalyzer, Refusal for Chemical Testing, Driving Suspended.

On Saturday, November 2 at 2:17 a.m., officers spotted Frank Herrero, age 22, of North Bergen, on the 800 block of Bloomfield Street after a report of a male possibly intoxicated inside a vehicle. The officers found his 2018 Chevy pulled over to the side with the Herrero slouched over the side of the open driver side door vomiting. After failing a field sobriety test, he was taken to HPD HQ and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, DWI in a School Zone, Reckless Driving.

Early Sunday morning, November 3 at 2:39 a.m., Ryan Taylor, age 24, Newark was involved in a motor vehicle accident on the 100 block of Washington Street. Taylor, who was allegedly at fault in the accident, failed a field sobriety test and was then charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to submit to breathalyzer, DWI in a school zone.

Drunk driving claimed the lives of almost 11,000 people in 2017 and 2016, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that shows drunk driving remains the leading cause of death on our nation’s roads.
