hob’art ‘LIFE’ Exhibit Now Open; Gallery Talk on Sunday, January 17

“LIFE,” a multimedia group exhibition by the hob’art artists’ cooperative, is currently open to the public through January 31 at the hob’art gallery, Monroe Center of the Arts,
720 Monroe Street, E208, Hoboken, NJ.

hob’art’s first exhibition of 2016, “LIFE” is a visually evocative and illuminating show devoted to the recent work of hob’art’s general membership. Each of the exhibiting artists draws inspiration from their environment, bringing life’s energy to the exhibition. Sculptors Carla Cubit, Liz Cohen, Ibou Ndoye, and Katie McGheein use a variety of media to create amusing, fun and lighthearted pieces. The joy and humor of life is also evident in the photographic art of Don Sichler, Jean Paul Picard, Janet Kolstein, and Starr Tucker-Ortega. Using cut tile, encaustic, found objects, paint, and fused glass, the artists France Garrido, Rich Roberts, Meredeth Turshen, and Donna O’Grady explore life’s visual, spiritual, and intellectual mysteries.

On Sunday, January 17, at 3:30pm, the artists will discuss their work and will welcome questions from visitors.
