Mortgage Market in Review:
The upward pressure on mortgage rates has continued over the past couple of weeks. The 10-Year Note has been pushing near its highest levels of the year. With equities markets seemingly in a pre-election holding pattern for now, consumers are waiting to get some guidance on which way this market will go. For now, analysts are calling for the upward pressure on rates to continue through the election, and all the way to the Fed meeting in December. What direction mortgage rates move in from there will depend not only on the Fed’s actions, but also their words.
