BAD COCOA HABIT: Hoboken Homemade Chocolate Shop Burglarized

Chocolate cravings can be pretty strong—but you can’t go around kicking doors in.

According to the Hoboken Police Department, two patrolling officers happened to notice damage to the door of Lepore’s Hoboken Famous Chocolates (105 4th Street, Hoboken) over the weekend. The incident initially appeared to be criminal mischief—however, the owner has reported a small amount of money missing, thus making it an ongoing burglary investigation.

hMAG stopped into the shop this morning, only to find it closed. The door appeared to be intact. Management has yet to respond to a subsequent phone call.

Our good friends at HobokenGirl.com recently stopped by Lepore’s to explore the decadent handmade chocolate treats and massive chocolate sculptures—all of which are made right there on the premises.

For over 38 years, Lepore’s has been keeping Hoboken sweet with its delicious treats—including assorted chocolates, chocolate-covered Oreos and even chocolate bacon. With the Easter Season on its way, we genuinely hope they’ll spring back and be hopping along as quickly as possible.
