Bern & The Brights EP Release, plus Christina Alessi & the Toll Collectors and Autumn City — FRIDAY @ MAXWELL’S

Electro dream pop duo Bernadette Malavarca and Catherine McGowan—a.k.a. Bern & The Brights take the stage at Maxwell’s on Friday, celebrating the release of “Heart Wide Open.”

Mixing rhythmic loops, synths, ambient guitars, emotional vocals, and introspective lyrics, their music is a fusion of light and dark wave.

Both vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, Malavarca and McGowan write, produce, record, and perform their music.  Bern & the Brights have performed with Butch Walker, Rhett Miller, Mike Doughty, Nicole Atkins, Living Colour, Melissa Ferrick, Allo Darlin’, Ian Hunter, The Baseball Project, The Wombats, Fishbone, Chiddy Bang, Val Emmich, Hank & Cupcakes, The Dirty Urchins, and My Pet Dragon.

Friday night at Maxwell’s, they’ll share the stage with local favorites Christina Alessi and the Toll Collectors, plus Autumn City.
