CARRY THE NEWS: Ian Hunter & The Rant Band Headlining the Hoboken Arts & Music Festival

The Hoboken Arts & Music Festival is this Sunday, June 12—rescheduled from a previous date this Spring.

Stepping in to headline the event is Ian Hunter & the Rant Band, currently on tour and playing in the area. Hoboken music icon James Mastro is a touring member of the Rant Band, and spoke with Hoboken Internet Radio‘s Alice Stockton Rossini about the upcoming big gig:

Another Hoboken institution, Skanatra, will be taking the stage as well. For the uninitiated, Skantra is Ska + Sinatra—like “Sinatra at the Sands,” only the Count Basie Orchestra is too hungover so The Specials are filling in for the night.

Meanwhile Zachary Alexander, winner of last night’s Sinatra Idol competition will be on hand to showcase, “his authentic Sinatra look, moves, and youthful style seem to come straight from the Rat Pack era,” according to Barbara Simon, of the BJ Simon Singing Studio.

A variety of other performances make for a great day-long event, including:

-Smokey’s Round-Up
-The Amazing Incredibles
-Emily & the Ideals
-Sylvana Joyce and the Moment
-Amanda Holley
and much more…

Arts, crafts, music, food vendors, small businesses and local community organizations line Hoboken’s main thoroughfare from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. for this, the 22nd annual Spring Hoboken Arts & Music Festival.

See you Sunday, rain or shine…
