HOBOKEN ON ICE: Harlow Winter Village Set to Open Under Viaduct on Dec. 22nd

The City of Hoboken will host an outdoor skating rink this winter, opening on December 22nd, 2016 and operating through February 28th, 2017. Residents are invited to join an opening celebration for the rink, known as the “Harlow Winter Village”, at 3:30pm on December 22nd.

“I am thrilled to announce that Hoboken will host a pop-up skating rink as a new option for residents and visitors of all ages to get out and have fun this winter,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer. “Along with our newly-built mini-soccer pitches, this facility will further activate our viaduct recreation area and support our growing, vibrant neighborhood in northwest Hoboken. I thank Harlow Hoboken for the generous sponsorship that made this possible.”

The rink is supported by sponsorship from Advance Realty — developer of the recently opened Harlow Hoboken luxury apartment building at 1330 Willow Avenue — and will be located under the 14th Street Viaduct between Grand Street and Adams Street. The tentative hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 2:30pm to 10:00pm and weekends from 9:00am to 10pm.

“We’re delighted to help bring this unique recreational offering to northwest Hoboken,” said Peter Cocoziello, president and CEO of Advance Realty. “We are extremely excited to be a part of the Hoboken community, and we look forward to meeting some of our new neighbors at the ‘Winter Village’.”
