EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Hudson Reporter Building to be Converted to Retail Space
The former Hudson Reporter Building will soon become a retail space, according to a report from NJ.com.
After 33 years, the community newspaper vacated the premises back in May 2016, relocating to an office space in Bayonne.
The ornate two-story building on the northwest corner of 14th and Washington Street has since been acquired by Thor Equities, a commercial and residential real estate development firm based in Manhattan.
As we reported last week, Uptown Hoboken has transformed into one of New York Metro Area’s trendiest locations. With uptown anchors like The Madison Bar & Grill, City Bistro, Bin 14, Carpe Diem and Pilsener Haus, newcomers like Urban Coalhouse Pizza + Bar, craft beer mecca The Shepherd and the Knucklehead (September) and Anthony Pino’s Porter Collins (September) are seeing the north end of Hoboken develop into a hospitality scene unto itself.
The former Reporter Building is right in the midst of it all, peering straight down Hoboken’s main thoroughfare. We’ll certainly keep a close eye on whatever moves into this truly impressive location.
