Hoboken Mayor-Elect Ravi Bhalla today named former running mate John Allen as Chief of Staff for his incoming administration.
Allen is an attorney who currently serves as a Hoboken Democratic Committeeman and sits on the Board of Directors of Easter Seals New Jersey.
Allen ran for Council on the Team Bhalla Slate in the recent election.
“John will bring dedication, energy and smarts to City Hall,” says Bhalla. “I am very pleased that he is coming on board.”
Says Allen, “I am looking forward to helping to implement Ravi Bhalla’s vision and plans for Hoboken. It is a tremendous opportunity to serve the City I live in and love.”
Former Zimmer Chief of Staff Vijay Chaudhuri left his position to serve as Bhalla’s campaign manager. He is reprotedly moving onto a new position, remaining in public service. “Vijay did a tremendous job as my campaign manager, combining skill with a work ethic second to none,” says Bhalla. “I wish him well in his new venture and will continue to value his advice.”
Given the existing vacancy in the Chief of Staff position, Allen will begin work at City Hall on December 4th.
“John will help ensure that there is a smooth transition between administrations and will be a tremendous asset to Mayor Bhalla and the City of Hoboken,” says Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer, whose term ends on December 31.
