Hoboken needs help—no doubt about that…
Our community has suffered significant losses amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As state and local authorities begin a gradual reassessment of public safety measures, the economic impact of the now two-month long quarantine is also readily apparent.
Earlier this week, the City announced the formation of a task force made up of business leaders in our community. That news comes on the heels of the formation of the Hoboken Relief Fund, which will issue grants to local businesses in need.
In an effort to generate support for the fund, Mayor Ravi Bhalla and “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro are hosting the “LOVE LOCAL: Hoboken Relief Fund Online Benefit Concert” this Saturday, May 16 LIVE on the City of Hoboken’s Facebook page..
Musical guests include (alphabetically) Ron Albanese (a.k.a POLKA DOT!), Zack Alexander, Richard Barone, Jeremy Beck, Deena and Jon of The Cucumbers, Elena and Boo of The Demolition String Band, Julio Fernandez, The Fuzzy Lemons featuring Dana Harrison and Dave Lambert, Garden Street School of the Performing Arts, Gene D. Plumber, Karyn Kuhl, James Mastro, Glenn Morrow, Abbe Rivers, Rockness Music, Jack Skuller, Twiddlin’ Thumbs, Emily Turonis, Gary Van Miert, and Andrew Wholf.
Plus TV star Chris Manzo, Councilwoman Jen Giattino, Councilman Phil Cohen, online personality Peter Biancamano, Mile Square Theatre Director Chris O’Connor, writer and emcee Jack Silbert, and storyteller Adam Wade.
Money raised will help Hoboken small businesses and Hoboken residents weather the economic and financial hardships caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please pitch in what you can…
