“Life is a carnival, believe it or not…”
The carnival that is the Hoboken Last Waltz comes to town this Friday and Saturday night at Maxwell’s, bringing “The Band” back together here in town for the fourth straight year.
“Hoboken Last Waltz was the first, and is very special to me because it’s based on uniting the musicians and artists in our community,” says organizer Jaime DeJesus. “We continue to grow, and help each other to do so.”
Originally performed on Thanksgiving Day in 1976, The Band’s legendary The Last Waltz show at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco included a jaw-dropping menu of special guests on stage to see them off as they ended their run.
Produced by ALEO Productions, The 4th Annual Hoboken Last Waltz recreates that genuinely epic show in its entirety, representing more of a coming together than a farewell, as the who’s who of the contemporary Hoboken music scene unite to put on one hell of a show.
“It’s the perfect vessel—great music, great musicians, great songs, a horn section—for getting a bunch of talented musicians together to play together,” says DeJesus, who has been developing the concept of this show for its entire run.
With so much talent in one room, it tends to get crowded. That’s why to performance has grown to include two shows—Friday and Saturday night.
“We’re excited to bring quality music to the venues in Hoboken, as our part in making our town something special.”
Tickets for both shows are currently available, but going fast. This show routinely sells out, so secure your spot for the Hoboken Last Waltz right away…
