Ravi Bhalla, Hoboken’s recently elected Mayor, is seemingly embracing the “side-hustle” economy after taking on an “Of Counsel” role with Lavery, Selvaggi, Abromitis & Cohen, P.C.—a New Jersey-based law firm that practices in Zoning, Planning & Land Use and Real Estate.
According to Lavery, Selvaggi, Abromitis & Cohen, P.C., “Ravi will serve as a valuable resource to clients and attorneys at the Firm.”
Prior to becoming Mayor, Bhalla most recently served as a partner at Florio Perrucci Steinhardt & Fader, where he, “represented major corporations, small businesses, public entities and individuals in complex civil and criminal litigation matters.”
His new role as “Of Counsel” means he has a relationship with the Firm, but is not an associate or a partner. The average base salary for an Of Counsel is $166,870, according to Glassdoor.com.
“Ravi’s salary is well south of $100,000 and in the range of what clerical staff is paid,” says Rob Horowitz, a spokesperson for Mayor Bhalla.
