Hoboken Redwings Track & Field Family Fun Day—This Sunday

This Sunday, March 15, the Hoboken Redwings Track & Field team is hosting a Family Fun Day at Hoboken High School (800 Clinton St.) from 1-4 p.m.

Tickets are $5, and proceeds will go toward funding the team’s trip to the Penn Relays later in April.

The annual Penn Relay Carnival is held at the University of Pennsylvania, providing a premier track and field competition for participants of all levels, ages, and abilities.

Six male track members have qualified from Hoboken Junior Senior High while the girls have until the third week in March to qualify. The last time the team qualified was in 2012, so it is a tremendous honor for the team to be invited back to participate, represent Hoboken and to be scouted by colleges and universities throughout the country.

The team needs to raise additional funds to help cover the cost of the hotel, meals (for 3 days and 2 nights) and hopefully souvenirs for the students.
