LaLiga Promises, Sinatra Park Delivers — Fantastic Futbol Phenoms On Display in Hoboken

Sixteen of the world’s best 12-and-under soccer teams from around the globe showcased their skills this past weekend in Hoboken, New Jersey at the 4th annual LaLiga Promises International Tournament.
In an incomparable location with the best panoramic views of the New York skyline, the football fields of Frank Sinatra Park hosted three days of fun and exciting soccer action, featuring the future stars of the sport.
Participating clubs included FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla FC, Villarreal CF, Valencia CF, RCD Espanyol, Inter Milan, SL Benfica, FC Porto, Liverpool FC, JEF United, Club America, New York City FC, New York Red Bulls and Ironbound SC.
RCD Espanyol took home the championship with a thrilling 1-0 victory over Valencia CF, on a goal by Enric, marking the end of a weekend filled with talent, passion, and camaraderie. RCD Espanyol advanced to Sunday afternoon’s championship after blanking JEF United Ichihara Chiba 4-0 earlier that morning. Valencia CF edged Inter de Milán in the second semi-final, 2-1.

This marks the end of another successful year for LaLiga Promises, filled with emotional and passionate play from the get go, and displayed some of the greatest acts of fair-play. The International competition has always been a fantastic platform for different youth teams from across the world to come and show their amazing talent. With this, LaLiga and the José Ramón de la Morena Foundation have taken a step forward in promoting ‘soccer’ in the United States.
