NATIONAL NIGHT OUT IN HOBOKEN — Tonight at Church Square Park

This evening, the Hoboken Police Department and Stevens Police Department will be hosting National Night Out in Hoboken.

Designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime efforts, strengthen police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back, National Night Out is a nationwide event that allows the community workers to give back to their community.

Tonight’s Hoboken event will be in Church Square Park from 5pm until 9pm.

Elsa from “Frozen” and Cinderella will be in attendance, plus bounce houses, free food and giveaways throughout the night. Prizes include baseball tickets, a Burberry handbag, gift cards and autographed sports memorabilia. HPD will be conducting free child carseat inspections from inside the parking lot of the A. J. Demarest School (158 4th Street).

Various police agencies, several local businesses and community organizations will be out in full support of this night out against crime. Stevens Institute of Technology will have tables featuring activities by Stevens Athletics, Stevens Police, and the Center for Innovation in Engineering and Science Education (CIESE) , a 3D scanner demonstration, and more.
