SHOP LOCAL, SAVE LOCAL: Hoboken Business Alliance Launches Gift Card Program to Invigorate Support for Local Businesses

The Hoboken Business Alliance (HBA) has announced the launch of its 40% Off Gift Card Program, allowing residents and visitors to purchase discounted gift cards from many local businesses. The Gift Cards are available for purchase now through September 30 (while supplies last), with more than 100 small businesses participating. A win-win for Hoboken shoppers, customers will have the opportunity to get more for their money while supporting local retail shops, eateries, salons, barbers, fitness studios, and more.

Hoboken was among the first in the nation to close down its businesses in response to the threat of COVID-19. As many local businesses begin to re-open or expand their offerings, these establishments are not only excited to serve their loyal customers, but are genuinely in need of support following months of disruption. Through the HBA Gift Card Program, shoppers can purchase up to two discounted gift cards directly from each business.

The full list of participating businesses is available at hobokenalliance.com/giftcards and notes which options are offered by location, including a $25-value gift card for $15, a $50-value gift card for $30, or both. As part of the program, the Hoboken Business Alliance will cover the cost difference, helping hometown businesses flourish and giving residents even more reasons to shop locally.

“Our local businesses are truly the heart of Hoboken, and help make this city a vibrant place to live and visit,” said Gregory Dell’Aquila, President of the Hoboken Business Alliance. “As a way to give back to those who are the fabric of our Hoboken home, the HBA Gift Card Program incentivizes residents and visitors to support local businesses by purchasing gift cards now and have a reason to go back and visit later.”

Whether used for a back-to-school haircut, date-night meal, workout session, or future gift, people can purchase gift cards from their favorite businesses or discover new places in their neighborhood throughout the year. To purchase a discounted gift card, visit any of the participating locations during usual business operating hours through the end of September.

“We are thrilled to participate in the Gift Card Program, which allows our customers to get even more for their money while visiting us, thanks to the HBA,” said Niki Klaczany, owner of Up & Out Salons. “As a small-business owner, we take pride in being a part of this special Hoboken community and are so grateful to everyone who shops locally and supports us and so many other businesses here, especially in these more challenging times. We look forward to seeing all of our customers and friends as they continue to include us as part of their lives.”
