SHOTS FIRED AT LIGHT RAIL STATION: Dispute Escalates on Elevator
hMAG has confirmed that gunshots were fired at an incident in the 9th Street Light Rail Elevator, which led to a suspension of the service on Friday evening.
Miraculously, no one was injured.
Some time after 8 p.m. on Friday, May 11, a dispute occurred on the elevator between Congress Street in Jersey City and the 9th Street Light Rail Station in Hoboken.
Hudson Bergen Light Rail Service is temporarily suspended in both directions between 2nd St. and Lincoln Harbor due to police activity.

In the dispute, shots were reportedly fired from the elevator, at a range of 7 feet. And yet, no one was injured in the incident.
Although the incident did not take place in Hoboken, the victims who were fired upon then fled into Hoboken, and were assisted by Hoboken Police.
As the incident took place on the elevator, the investigation falls under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Transit Police. hMAG has reached out to that department, and will update this story with any further information once it becomes available.
