SOLACE HOUSE SUNRISE WALK HOBOKEN: Daybreak 5K Hopes to Shed Light on Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention — Saturday, May 19th

Suicide has claimed the lives of too many friends and loved ones—here in Hudson County, New Jersey, and beyond.

Starting in the dark & early hours of the morning on Saturday, May 19 and crossing the finish line just as dawn is breaking, the Solace Sunrise Walk is an annual 5k walk/run that raises funds and awareness for suicide and self-harm prevention.

Solace House was born out of a need to bring a solution to the people of our area. Their belief is that you don’t have to have mental health issues to need someone to talk to. Oftentimes, it’s a negative life event that can put someone in suicidal distress—the death of a partner or child, the losing of a job or home, suffering with physical pain. Solace House understands this, and their highly qualified therapists have been trained to deal with all circumstances.

With the hope of expanding across the U.S., Solace House provide free one-on-one therapy for people who are in suicidal distress, those who engage in self-harm and people who are bereaved by suicide.
