VERDICT: Yeah, You Can Pretty Much See the East River Fireworks From Hoboken

We were all pretty bummed out about the fact that the fireworks weren’t on the Hudson River this year.

But here’s an interesting fact—fireworks actually shoot up into the air.

So even though Lower Manhattan partially obsctructed our view, the hundreds of pyrotechnic fans who flocked to Hoboken’s Pier A were still treated to one heck of a show.

Of course the grainy iPhone pic above could never do it justice, but it was truly a great view. The biggest problem was the resulting crick in the neck going back and forth from the NYC fireworks display and the equally impressive show on the Jersey side down by Liberty State Park.

So… next time you think Hoboken is a bust on the Fourth because there are “no fireworks,” think again.
