According to Gothamist, the NYC Sanitation Department is set to roll out 192 Big Belly solar trash cans throughout the heart of hipsterdom, in the Williamsburg-Greenpoint area. These are the same trashcans that we’ve had here in Hoboken since 2013.

So yes, Hoboken had solar trash cans “before it was cool.”
