89-Year-Old Woman Dies of Her Injuries After Being Struck By a Car on Washington Street
An 89-year-old woman was struck by a car while crossing Washington Street in Hoboken on Friday night. She succumbed to her injuries, and passed away several hours after she was hit.
The incident occurred near at the corner of Fifth and Washington Streets.
The driver told police that he didn’t see the woman crossing the street as he made a left onto Washington Street. She was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for head trauma and other injuries, according to police reports, where she died later on Friday evening.
The driver was issued a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
