Area Dip$#!+ Jumps Off Hoboken Pier on a Dare
A 22-year-old East Rutherford man proved his mettle last night by jumping into the Hudson River off Hoboken’s Pier A, and promptly crying for help.
According to NJ.com, several responding agencies came to his aid, including Hoboken Police, the New York Police Department’s Harbor Unit, New York Police Department’s Aviation Unit and a Hoboken Fire Department boat.
The man was taken to the hospital as a precaution and charged with violating a city ordinance that bans swimming in waters abutting public parks.
This is the second successful dip$#!+ rescue in the past few months off Hoboken.
Meanwhile, last year saw numerous tragic fatalities on the waterfront.
