FRIDAYS ARE FOR FRANK: “You Will Be My Music”
“When all the songs are out of tune
And all the rhythms ring so untrue
When I don’t find the words to say
The thoughts I bring to you…”
Composer/Songwriter Joe Raposo was probably best known for writing the theme songs for “Sesame Street,” “Electric Company,” and even “Three’s Company.” However, Frank Sinatra sang Raposo’s “You Will Be My Music” upon coming out of retirement for his 1973 album, Ol’ Blue Eyes Is Back. The album went gold and was deemed a commercial success, nearly breaking to top 10.
The reception of Ol’ Blue Eyes Is Back set the stage for Frank’s cycling in and out of the spotlight for the rest of his career—always leaving them wanting more.
“When I hear lonely singers
Who are just as lost as me
Making noise, not melody
You will be my music
You will be my song
You will be my music
I can’t wait any longer if I’m wrong…”
