LAYUPS 4 LIFE: Watch the Sweet Sixteen Thursday at FUSE, Raise Money for Cancer Research
Looking for a place to watch some basketball on Thursday? Join the Layups 4 Life team and Hoboken Happy Hours at FUSE Events (256 Newark Street) to raise funds and awareness for cancer research.
Layups 4 Life—a 3-on-3 basketball tournament taking place in a few weeks in Roxbury, NJ—was created by Dan Exter, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A.L.L.) in the summer of 2013. He received a treatment plan consisting of full body radiation, chemotherapy and a T-Cell depleted Stem Cell transplant, in which his only brother, Jason, would be a perfect match and Dan’s donor. The transplant procedure that Dan received at Memorial Sloan Kettering was a result of a successful clinical trial and it inevitably saved his life.
When creating this event, it was important to Dan to not only raise money for cancer research but to also fund research advancements at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Thursday’s event is a supplemental fundraiser for Layups 4 Life for those of us right here in Hoboken looking to support the cause.
Only $20 at the door includes food & drinks from VDKA 6100! Awesome raffle prizes and 50/50 to win!
