NICE WORK: Hoboken Crime Rate Sees Double-Digit Drop in 2015
According to statistics presented by HPD Chief Ken Ferrante, the Hoboken Crime Rate went down overall 12.1% in 2015.
Specifically, Hoboken saw an 8.8%-reduction in violent crime, while non-violent crime dropped 12.5% citywide. Highlights include a 39.3%-drop in robbery, 28.1%-drop in burglary and 19.1%-drop in auto theft. Compared to over 600 cars stolen in Hoboken per year back in the ’90s, last year saw only 38—down from 47 the year before.
