RAVE — Otto Strada Meatball: “We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Plate”

Hoboken has always been a place for big appetites, where locals have their choice of fabulous restaurants offering amazing meals to fill their bellies. Otto Strada is convinced they can do both with one simple dish—a meatball.
Weighing in at one pound even, it’s likely the largest and tastiest meatball you’ll ever meet. When my wife ordered it as her meal, it took her a few days to actually finish it. The next visit we ordered it for the whole table to share.
It’s not just a big piece of meat. First and foremost, it’s made from meat provided by Truglio’s—one of Hoboken’s hidden gems. Secondly, it’s stuffed with delicious cheese and spices that make it a truly tasty meal.
Beyond the meatball, Otto Strada offers a fantastic atmosphere where they serve up plenty of other delights (such as the Octopus appetizer). Located on Park Avenue at the corner of Eighth Street—“Otto Strada” in Italian—this BYOB hotspot is one of Hoboken’s truly great newer establishments.
