TAKE A LOAD OFF: “The Last Waltz” Brings The Weight of Area Music Talent Together @ White Eagle Hall — Saturday, November 23rd

For six years, this event has somehow managed to get bigger and bigger and bigger…

Produced by ALEO Productions, The Last Waltz at White Eagle Hall recreates The Band‘s genuinely epic farewell show in its entirety, as the who’s who of the contemporary Hudson County music scene unite to put on one hell of a show.

Originally performed on Thanksgiving Day in 1976, The Last Waltz show at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco included a jaw-dropping menu of special guests on stage to see them off as they ended their run.

On November 23rd—the Saturday before Thanksgiving 2019—the soundtrack to that legendary classic concert film, THE LAST WALTZ will be performed by a group of Hudson County’s finest musicians at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City.

Coordinating so much talent onto one stage would seem daunting to most. Heck, even Martin Scorsese had a tough time filming the original event. But producer Jaime DeJesus knows his subject matter.

“This will be the sixth year that ALEOproductions is staging this wildly successful show, having sold out multiple nights at other venues, such as Maxwell’s and last year at White Eagle Hall,” says DeJesus.

Over 40 artists will lend their talents to this year’s production, having evolved from relatively humble beginnings in the old Northern Soul on First Street.

“When we first started this production, the purpose was to stage an incredible show that allowed for many performers in our community to shine,” says DeJesus. “The result was a unification of many of the talented and hard-working musicians in the greater Hudson County into a community of bands and musicians that continue to support each others’ ‘shine’.”

Last year’s Last Waltz was the first year at White Eagle Hall, and the place was jam-packed with talented individuals who a essential to the flourishing music scene on this side of the Hudson and beyond.

“It’s definitely our Thanksgiving dinner with our crew,” says DeJesus. “Not just with the cast and crew of the show—also with our close friends in the audience and the people who have come for numerous years.”

Speaking of dinner… Madame Claude Bis has offered 10% off for ticket holders if you would like to dine before walking upstairs to the show. An afterparty will be held at nearby FM, featuring a Talking Heads tribute band.
