Work it Out Fitness Hosting “Ride for a Cause” to Promote Autism Awareness — SUNDAY
UPDATE: DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING RESPONSE, AN EXTRA 2 P.M. CLASS HAS BEEN ADDED!!!
For a donation of $50 each, attendees participate in one of two THREE hour-long spin classes (Noon, 1 p.m. and NOW 2 p.m.). All proceeds will benefit Wallace Elementary School’s applied behavioral analysis (ABA) program and the Global Autism Project.
“Finding ways to support the community where our members work, live and play is our priority,” said Noël Fiorentinos, founder of Work it Out Fitness Studios. “By partnering with Wallace Elementary to raise funds for its autism program, we are able to give back to the community that we’ve been proud to call home for the past five years.” The cause is especially close to the Fiorentinos’ heart, as a child of one of her employees directly benefits from the ABA services offered at the school.
Autism currently affects 1 in 68 children in the United States and 1 in 45 in New Jersey, and seventy million people worldwide. Wallace School has been committed to educating children with autism for the last three years using the principles of ABA. Currently, the school’s ABA Program has 30 students and continues to grow with students between the ages of 3 and 9 years old and in grades Pre-K to 3rd. The five teachers involved in the program use the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia (ACE), which develops individualized programs for each of their students.
