Labor Day is running a bit late this year, which means a lot of us are looking for more to do with the kids before we’re saved by the school bell…
To that end, the City of Hoboken has announced special double-feature “Movies Under the Stars” at Mama Johnson Field (4th and Jackson Sts.), with The LEGO Movie (PG) and Guardians of the Galaxy (PG-13).
Admission is free.
While the summer film series usually takes place on Pier A, the City takes it to the western edge of town this week. “Movies Under the Stars is a community-favorite event, and we’re glad to expand it and for the first time to provide a special double feature at Mama Johnson Field,” said Mayor Dawn Zimmer.
The event opens at 7:00pm. Bring a blanket or low-back chair.
“I’m very appreciative of Mayor Zimmer, Director Pellegrini and Geri Fallo for accommodating my request to bring Movies Under the Stars to the 4th Ward,” said Councilman Tim Occhipinti. “I know my neighbors and I are excited for this event and we hope to incorporate more movies at Mama Johnson Field next summer.”
