Welcome to Silicon Square — Jet.com’s Marc Lore and the Latest Issue of hMAG
Could Hoboken become the East Coast equivalent of Silicon Valley?
A number of people are starting think that way—most notably entrepreneur Marc Lore, who has perched Jet.com‘s corporate headquarters on the west side of the Hudson waterfront, aiming to capitalize on our city’s enviable location, remarkable accessibility and innovative character.
“If you’re going to situate a company in the New York area,” says Lore, “I can’t think of a better place than Hoboken.”
Hoboken has always had a different way of looking at things—something evident in our robust art scene. While that scene had struggled in recent years, the ongoing presence of galleries indicates a cultural maturity many had thought was washed away in Hoboken’s rapid development.
Of course the cultivation of new ideas is deeply rooted in our small corner of the Garden State—look no further than the botanical innovations of John Stevens.
This, and so much more (food, drink, theater, sports, books…), can all be found in the latest issue of hMAG—hitting the streets in the next few days.
Pier A, Pier 13 or DTS, hMAG makes for an ideal summertime beach read. Be sure to send us pics…
