Hudson County Honors Hoboken’s Irish
In an awards ceremony at the Hudson County Courthouse in Jersey City, Hudson County officials honored Hoboken men and women of Irish decent who have made an impact in their community.
Honorees included:
Hoboken Irishwoman of the Year — Cathy Nicholson
Hoboken Irishman of the Year — Brian Keller
Hoboken Irish Fireman of the Year — Brian Crimmins
Hoboken Irish Policeman of the Year — Charles Campbell
Hoboken Woman of Irish Heritage of the Year — Janemarie Cunning Valente
Hoboken Man of Irish Heritage of the Year — William Coughlin
As there is no Hoboken St. Patrick’s Day Parade this year, honorees were cordially invited to march in Jersey City’s Parade on March 15.
“It is a great honor,” said Hoboken Irishwoman of the Year Cathy Nicholson, “I’m very humbled.” Nicholson, who works at Hoboken Irish landmark The Shannon (106 First Street), was selected for her involvement with local initiatives.
“I’m proud to have been involved with the Hoboken St. Patrick’s Day Committee in the past,” said Hoboken Irishman of the Year Brian Keller. “This is a tremendous honor.”
County Executive Tom DeGise and Freeholder Anthony Romano were on hand to present the Hoboken delgation.
